A round-up of news and views relating to Chelsea over the past 24 hours.
Juan Mata has said he would be delighted to see Jose Mourinho return to Chelsea if the Portuguese manager was appointed by the club. Mata said the players were not sure what was happening about the new manager, but Mourinho was one of the best, and that he hoped that Chelsea would challenge for the Premier League title whoever was in charge.
Thibaut Courtois has said he wants to become part of Chelsea’s history, but accepted that he might still be number two to Petr Cech next season, and he would be happy to stay on loan at Atletico Madrid.
"I want to be part of Chelsea history,” he said
"If the new manager says, 'I want Courtois as my first choice', that is how it will be. But Petr Cech is a world-class goalkeeper who plays every game at such a high level.”
Chelsea and Manchester City meet tonight in a friendly in St Louis, and both clubs will pay their respects to the victims of the Oklahoma tornado.
Chelsea are reportedly planning a raid on Galatasaray for their striker Burak Yilmaz, who has had a prolific season at the Turkish club. Yilmaz only arrived at Galatasaray last summer, and so could cost in excess of £20million.
Atletico Madrid have said that they are yet to receive an offer for their striker Radamel Falcao, who has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea and Monaco in recent weeks. Atletico Madrid are apparently happy to let the Colombian leave, but will not accept bids less than his €60million release fee.
However there have been suggestions that Chelsea are set to miss out on Falcao, along with Edinson Cavani and Robert Lewandowski this summer, and could be in for a frustrating time as they try to bolster their strike force.

We also look at the rumours suggesting Barcelona are targeting Marc Andre Ter Stegen rather than Courtois as their next keeper, and the speculation about Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Stamford Bridge.
