There have been conflicting reports today surrounding the future of Arsenal transfer target Gonzalo Higuain. First thing this morning it appeared that The Gunners had missed out on their man as it was reported in Italy that a deal for the player had been confirmed; with the small matter of a price-tag all that’s left to be agreed.
However his agent later confirmed that such reports were premature and that talks were in the ‘early stage’.
It comes amid increased speculation that Arsenal are nearing giving clearance for a £19 million swoop for the Argentine as they seek to improve their squad ahead of next season.
