Tottenham Hotspur latest: Including Bale and Dembele

All the latest Tottenham Hotspur news and gossip.

Gareth Bale has given another hint he will be staying at Spurs this season, telling SpursTV he is focusing on bouncing back next campaign.

He said: "We have got the record points for the club in the Premier League. That would normally be enough to qualify for the Champions League, but it's not meant to be again. It's disappointing, but we will pick ourselves up again. We will just have to regroup this season and give it another go."

Meanwhile former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has urged the Spanish giants to break the bank to sign the Welshman, in an interview on Talksport earlier today.

Midfielder Mousa Dembele says he hopes Tottenham can mount a title challenge next season, believing they have many of the core ingredients in their squad to do so.

When asked about the possibility he said: "I'm never shy to say that I believe in everything. So if we start well next year, you never know. Maybe if some good players come in, then it's a different season. There's a chance, why not?"

The Belgian also affirmed his belief that it was the games against clubs in the lower half of the Premier League which let Tottenham down, stating: "We dropped a lot of points against the bottom teams. Against the good teams we can make the difference."

Tottenham will play Jamaica's international team in the Bahamas on Thursday, as part of their brief post-season tour. A full squad has made the trip, with Andre Villas-Boas stating the players remain focused on the match, which they intend to win. Gareth Bale is among the squad and is expected to feature.

The club's hopes of bringing in Franco Baldini as a director of football could have received a boost today, as the Italian was due to meet with his Roma bosses to discuss his future. The outcome of that is as yet unknown.

On HITC today we have a review of Tottenham's season, picking out plenty of positives which don't focus on Gareth Bale, while discussing the various reasons Spurs failed to attain their goal of finishing in the top four.

We have also taken a look at the five areas of priority for Andre Villas-Boas, if he is to boost Tottenham's fortunes over the summer and next season.
