Liverpool are being strongly linked with a move for Manchester City defender Kolo Toure. The former Arsenal star is out of contract at the end of the season with Liverpool an obvious destination after the retirement of veteran defender Jamie Carragher.

Liverpool and West Ham have reportedly agreed a £15 million fee for Andy Carroll, but as the Express reports, the player is yet to wholesomely commit to moving to Upton Park.

However Former Liverpool player Steve Nicol has urged Brendan Rodgers to find a place for Andy Carroll in his team. Nicol told TalkSport that Rodgers should be looking at using Carroll as a different option next season, to guard against the fact opposition tams could outwit Liverpool tactically.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has shrugged off the latest round of rumours concerning his future. While he admits to being flattered by the links with Barcelona, he says he’s not looking to be part of any part deal and will honour his contract which runs until 2016.

Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has called on the powers that be at the club to back Brendan Rodgers in the summer transfer market. Gerrard has urged the bosses at Anfield to give Rodgers what he needs to ensure Liverpool can mount a strong push for the top four heading into next season.

Brendan Rodgers has revealed his surprise at the way Philippe Coutinho has settled at the club. The Brazilian midfielder has been a stand out performer since he signed from Inter Milan last January and Rodgers views him as an integral part of the immediate future of the side.

Former Liverpool favourite John Aldridge has told the club’s official website that Jordon Ibe will help Raheem Sterling next season. Aldridge has suggested it will make Sterling a better player now that he has competition for his place in the Liverpool senior side.

Liverpool face a battle against Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of FC Twente winger Nacer Chadli. Sky has suggested that the midfielder could be available and Liverpool could struggle if there is formal interest from the German giants who boast Champions League football and larger finances.

Reports in the Liverpool Echo are suggesting Liverpool are closing in on the signing of FC Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos. Brendan Rodgers has said he is keen to bring in defensive reinforcements this summer as he looks to stabilise the back four ahead of the 2013/2014 season.

Andy Carroll says he has no idea what his future holds. The striker has been on loan at West Ham United for most of the season, with conflicting reports suggesting he could sign a permanent deal in East London but only if Liverpool are willing to lower their asking price for him.
