European transfer talk: Featuring Neymar, Higuain and Lichtsteiner

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City targets all feature in a run down of the top five transfer rumours from the continent.

Wolfsburg playmaker Diego wants a speedy conclusion to negotiations with former loan club Atletico Madrid. The Brazilian is said to be a target for Los Colchoneros who may see Arda Turan leave this summer. He has confirmed there has been a concrete offer for his services and with one-year left on his contract at the Volkswagen Arena he may be on his way back to Spain.

There has been fresh speculation that Julio Baptista could be on his way back to Brazil. Spanish outfit Malaga are believed to be ready to sell the former Arsenal man as they look to ease the clubs financial burden. Internacional Porto Alegre are said to be keen with Dunga hoping to bring him back to his homeland.

Neymar is again being strongly linked with Barcelona today after his national team manager Luiz Felipe Scolari dropped him in it. The Brazil gaffer has been speaking to Barca president Sandro Rosell about the player and believes he would be a ‘great signing for Barcelona’. Neymar is reportedly desperate to join the Catalans and will talk to the club at the end of the Confederations Cup.

AS believe that Juventus have stepped up their pursuit of Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain by offering them a player Carlo Ancelotti is said to be a big fan of; Swiss full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner. The price would therefore be lowered to €25 million.

Dani Alves has refused to shut the door on a potential move away from Barcelona; despite admitting he was happy at the club. The Brazilian international has seen himself linked with plenty of moves abroad in recent months after failing to live up to his best form this season. Paris Saint-Germain are said to be leading the race for the right-back and he told Canal+ that he would not rule out a move to the French capital.
