Our weekly round-up of the top Liverpool transfer targets.
Liverpool closed out their season with a 1-0 win over QPR, finishing seventh in the Premier League. It was the second season in succession they had placed below rivals Everton, proving there is much work to be done.
Daniel Sturridge and Coutinho were superb additions in January, and fans are busy hoping there are more where they came from.
So who has been linked incoming over the past few days?
We've compiled a top six list, which does not feature those in last week's column, Cristian Tello, Jackson Martinez, Burak Yilmaz, Victor Wanyama, Douglas, and Ashley Williams.
Here it is:
1) Kyriakos Papadopoulos
The Liverpool Echo reported this week that the Reds are monitoring Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos. The centre-back would be a superb replacement for Jamie Carragher, a Greek international who played at Euro 2012. Now 21-years-old, he made his Olympiakos debut at just 16 and is one of Europe's most coveted defenders. The source of the rumours is a former scout who claimed the Reds are planning a move for him, but the defender only signed a new contract last summer which lasts until 2016.
2) Christian Eriksen
Danish sensation Christian Eriksen has been on the Reds' radar for a number of months now, but they face real competition for his signature from Borussia Dortmund. The People reported today that Eriksen is keen on a move to Anfield but Brendan Rodgers is 'dragging his heels' over making a £15 million offer for the Ajax attacker.
3) Asmir Begovic
Liverpool are lining up Asmir Begovic as a replacement for Pepe Reina if he leaves for Barcelona, report the Mirror. The Stoke goalkeeper is on the radar of several Premier League teams, and it is claimed that the Reds are even open to offering Stewart Downing in part exchange if they need to secure his services.
4) James McCarthy
James McCarthy is wanted by Liverpool according to The Times, which reported that Brendan Rodgers was at the Emirates to watch Wigan's defeat to Arsenal on Tuesday. The Irish midfielder is highly rated and has been linked with both Arsenal and Spurs over the past fortnight and is rated at £8 million.
5) Callum McManaman
It was also claimed in The Times that Liverpool want to sign Wigan's FA Cup hero Callum McManaman, who of course began his career at rivals Everton. The forward was called into England's under-21 side in the wake of the cup final but has since pulled out with an injury, but remains an exciting prospect who given the Latics relegation is unlikely to be there next season.
6) Ishak Belfodil
Reports in Italy have claimed Liverpool are to make a bid for Parma starlet Ishak Belfodil. A French under-21 international, he has pledged his future allegiance to Algeria's senior side. The 21-year-old striker has scored eight goals this season in Serie A and provided four assists.
