News and gossip from this weekend at The Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are into the Champions League qualifying rounds after cementing a fourth place finish in the Premier League table with a 1-0 win at St James Park against Newcastle United. Man of the match Laurent Koscielny grabbed the goal which proved vital after Gareth Bale struck a late screamer to earn Spurs a win in their game with Sunderland.

Mikel Arteta managed to pass fit for the game with Newcastle United today after originally being ruled out with a calf problem. The Spaniard however did not last long; coming off midway through the first half.

The win in the fixture came despite Newcastle owner Mike Ashley offering a shared bonus reward of £1 million to all non-playing staff at the club should Newcastle manage to topple The Gunners on the final day.

Arsenal are reportedly ready to join the race for Juventus full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner. The Swiss right-back is reportedly available for £12 million as Juve try to make room in their squad for new arrivals. Paris Saint-Germain are also looking into his availability but The Gunners could see the 29-year-old as the perfect replacement for Bacary Sagna; who looks increasingly likely to leave this summer.

Carl Jenkinson has vowed to make the right-back spot his own should Sagna leave the club this summer. The youngster has made in-roads at the club this season; playing large portions on the first team after Bacary Sagna spent much of the season 0on the side-lines injured.

It is again being reported that Arsenal will have plenty of money to spend in the summer in order to revitalise the club after Arsene Wenger led the club to a strong end of season run. Arsenal outperformed their record of last season by three points and are set to improve their squad with players such as Stevan Jovetic and Gonzalo Higuain expected to arrive to help the search for elusive silverware.
