Who are the best six players linked with signing for Manchester United this week?
Manchester United have just one game to play under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson, but plans are already afoot to help David Moyes next season.
Several players have been linked with moves to Old Trafford, some mega-stars, others hot prospects for the future.
In our weekly transfer rankings feature, we have picked out the top six players linked with signing for the Red Devils over the past week.
Note: Players included in last week's list are not included: They are Ilkay Gundogan, Marouane Fellaini, Joao Moutinho, Leighton Baines, Juan Quintero, and Pepe.
Here they are...
1) Cesc Fabregas
The Evening Standard reported earlier this week that Manchester United have made an approach for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas to replace Paul Scholes. Fabregas had recently stated he wants to stay at the Nou Camp for another season, while Arsenal have first-option on him as terms of their 2011 sale. This one is ambitious, but if somehow pulled off then he would be a clever fit for United's midfield.
2) Thiago Alcantara
A more likely addition from Barcelona is Thiago Alcantara, who it has been claimed this week is up for sale at €25 million. The 22-year-old midfielder remains an incredible prospect despite being frequently sidelined at the Nou Camp, and he is a player United would do well to add to their squad, certainly superior to Anderson.
3) Mirko Vucinic
Italian sources have suggested this week that Mirko Vucinic is attracting interest from Manchester United, with Juventus open to selling the forward at the right price. Vucinic is a five-time Montenegrin player of the year who has scored against United for Roma previously, and is now 29-years-old. He is a very clever player who would score goals wherever he goes.
4) Piotr Zielinski
United are claimed to be monitoring Udinese youngster Piotr Zielinski, a Polish midfielder already lighting up Serie A. He had seven goals in 12 games for the Italian side's youth team, and is providing assists for the first team at the age of just 18-years-old. The bad news is that rivals Manchester City are also chasing his signature.
5) Ramy Rabia
Egyptian wonderkid Ramy Rabia has today been linked with United, a 19-year-old who is already a senior international and African Champions League winner with Al Ahly. A central defender, he can also play in midfield or at right-back, with Chelsea also interested. He will be playing at the FIFA under-20 World Cup this summer.
6) Ross Barkley
Journalist Tom Hopkinson of the People newspaper has claimed David Moyes is interested in bringing Ross Barkley with him to Old Trafford. Baines impressed for Everton against Arsenal at the Emirates last month, and the midfielder has for a while been tipped as the 'next big thing'. He also claims Baines, featured on our list last week, is also a target.
