Arsenal are claimed to have one signing almost wrapped up, but where does he feature in our list of transfer target rankings?
Arsenal are just one game away from securing Champions League qualification, needing a win away to Newcastle to be assured of it.
If they achieve their goal, they can push ahead with the pursuit of their major transfer targets, and if not then... well Arsenal fans don't want to consider that at this point.
There have been several outstanding players linked with signing for Arsenal this week, and some top prospects, so who makes our weekly top six?
Based on star quality and potential, here they are:
Note: players who featured in last week's list are not included; they are Wayne Rooney, Arda Turan, Lukasz Piszczek, Wilfried Bony, Sven Ulreich and James McCarthy.
1) Stevan Jovetic
Arsenal's reported top target has been back on their radar, with it claimed early in the week that the Gunners were increasingly confident of tying up a deal. There followed false reports that Juventus had made a bid for him, something their general manager denied. However the player did say in midweek he dreams of winning the Scudetto with Fiorentina, deliberately avoiding any transfer talk.
2) Gonzalo Higuain
Spanish newspaper Sport claimed this week that Arsenal had agreed a provisional fee with Real Madrid for the transfer of Gonzalo Higuain, with the Mirror claiming he is a back-up if they don't sign Jovetic. But this is one transfer target who Juventus are determined to beat the Gunners to, confirming their own interest earlier and have a meeting scheduled in Madrid to discuss a deal next week.
3) Josip Ilicic
Palermo playmaker Josip Ilicic is available for transfer and the Gunners have been linked with making a move. The Slovenian scored 10 goals for the relegated side this season, and the 25-year-old was valued by his club president at €25 million just two years ago.
4) Rui Patricio
Arsenal were said to have had a €10 million bid turned down by Sporting Lisbon for the goalkeeper this week, according to reports from Portugal. Patricio is Portugal's number one stopper and at 25-years-old could be a fixture at the Emirates for the next decade if Arsenal go back in for him.
5) Yaya Sanogo
Arsene Wenger confirmed the transfer of striker Yaya Sanogo from Auxerre is almost complete. Compared to David Trezeguet in his teenage years, the 20-year-old has also had the injury luck of Abou Diaby. He is back on his feet now, scoring nine goals in 11 games this season in Ligue Two. On a free transfer he is low risk, but has huge potential if he can stay fit.
6) Daniel Crowley
Arsenal are reportedly interested in Aston Villa youth starlet Daniel Crowley, who has been compared to Jack Wilshere. Still in his mid-teens, his potential is said to have the Gunners scouts buzzing, with a £1 million bid reportedly being prepared. An England youth international, he is an exciting name to watch for the future.
