5. 1968 - A block of Flats in Newham, East London, collapses following a gas explosion on the 18th floor leaving at least 3 dead and 80 families fleeing the tower block

6. 1975 - Junko Tabei becomes the first woman to climb Mount Everest

7. 1984 - Prince's When Doves Cry is released

8. 1985 - Two South Wales miners are jailed for life for the murder of taxi driver David Wilkie during the miners' strike

9. 1991 - Queen Elizabeth II becomes the first British monarch to address the United States Congress

10. 2001 - Labour Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott punches a man who throws an egg at him during a visit to north Wales

11. 2010 - Japan conducts the first wedding in which a couple is married by a robot. The couple had a connection to the robotics industry and wished for the robot, the I-Fairy, to officiate at their wedding in Tokyo
