Stevan Jovetic is tipped as Arsenal's top summer transfer target with many believing it is already a done deal.
Barring a u-turn from the player electing to remain at the club this summer or losing to Newcastle on Sunday, the biggest threat to the Gunners chances comes from Juventus.
Serie A champions Juventus have been linked with Jovetic persistently by the Italian press, with the club thought to be great admirers of the player.
And they are big fans of the Montenegrin, but when it comes to a summer transfer, they remain off the radar, according to general director Beppe Marotta.
He said: "Jovetic too is a great, but there are no negotiations. If a player is offered to us by an agent, it doesn’t mean that there are talks going on.”
This lack of activity lends credence to reports that a deal between Jovetic and Arsenal has already been struck, and Juventus appear to be focusing their efforts elsewhere.
One of the players they are interested in is Gonzalo Higuain, with officials said to have a meeting with Real Madrid to discuss the player lined up next Monday.
Marotta was coy on the Argentine, refusing to deny interest as he did with regards to Jovetic, simply saying: "As for Higuain, I’m not saying anything new when I say he is a great player."
He did however add that Juventus would certainly be in the market for players this summer, "I’d like to sign some more champions to add to the likes of Gigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio."
Fernando Llorente is already incoming, while Marotta has already conceded that top target Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not for sale by PSG.
This does make another forward signing more likely, and while Jovetic fits the bill - It does not appear that any move is progressed between Juventus and Fiorentina, contrary to other reports, and that may just smooth the path for a transfer to Arsenal for the player.
