Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has stated his desire to create a team of hard workers of egotistical superstars. Rodgers has suggested Liverpool need to look at signing players this summer who are consistent, where flamboyancy doesn’t matter and where work ethic is the main quality.

Several online media sources have suggested Liverpool are leading the race against Manchester United to sign 19-year-old Lucas Digne. The Sunday People reported over the weekend that Liverpool have apparently held talks with Lille over a quick summer move for the highly rated teenager.

Brendan Rodgers says one if the most important things for next season is creating a winning mentality. Rodgers has suggested it will be much easier for the side to achieve some consistency if they get used to a winning feeling and maintaining that week to week.

Jamie Carragher has revealed Liverpool have already started looking at several defensive signings ahead of the summer. One of those is suspected to be Marseille’s Nicolas N’Kolou who could be available for just under the £15 million mark, but Marseille rate him more highly than Thiago Silva of PSG.

Liverpool legend Kevin Keegan has joined the huge group of fans who believe Andy Carroll has no future at the club. Keegan says it’s obvious that Brendan Rodgers doesn’t want him back at Anfield, which could force the club to sell him for a fraction of what they bought him for.

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher stopped the Liverpool bus at the weekend to take a picture with some young supporters. Carragher and the team were travelling back to Liverpool following the win at Fulham when the defender spotted some youngsters carrying a banner paying tribute to him.

Former Kop favourite John Aldridge has suggested Pepe Reina is key to the club’s success for next season. Reina has been linked with a move away, with a possible return to Spain but Aldridge suggests he is vital to Liverpool’s chances of creating a strong spine through the middle of their team.

Liverpool continue to be linked with Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol as a long term replacement for Jamie Carragher. Albiol is thought to be keen on a move away from the Spanish club where he has failed in his attempts to become the primary centre back.
