UBS has appointed James Palmer as its new head of equity capital markets for the Americas, according to an internal memo obtained by Reuters.
The news agency reports that Palmer, previously a managing director in the group, will report to head of corporate client solutions for the Americas, Steve Cummings, and the global head of equity capital markets, Sam Kendall.
Palmer replaces Tom Fox, who left the Swiss bank in April.
In the meantime, Bloomberg reports that C.J. Beshke, UBS’s head of Asia-Pacific equities, will retire after 24 years with the largest Swiss bank, according to an internal memo distributed last week.
UBS has named Shane Gunther and Taichi Takahashi as co-heads of the business, Chi-Won Yoon, Asia-Pacific chief executive officer, and Mike Stewart, head of global equities, said in the document obtained by Bloomberg News. Both are based in Hong Kong.
Finally, Bloomberg reports that Lucidus Capital Partners LLP, the credit hedge fund, hired Anatoly Nakum last month to be a money manager focused on corporate debt.
The former co-head of debt trading for North America at UBS is running a long-short credit strategy with William Gaberlavage, Nakum said today in an e-mail. Nakum, who left UBS in 2011, joins David Gallers, who departed his post as head of credit-default swap index trading at UBS in October and now is a money manager focused on the indexes.
