Liverpool latest: Including Fulham team news and Gerrard boost

All of the latest news, information and transfer stories to do with Liverpool.

Liverpool have no fresh injury worries ahead of the Premier League clash with Fulham. Steven Gerrard misses out due to a shoulder problem while Luis Suarez serves the latest match of his ten game suspension. Jamie Carragher plays his penultimate match for the club.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has reassured the club he will be ready for pre-season training. Gerrard is missing the rest of the season to have shoulder surgery, which has cast doubt over whether he will be ready to hit the ground running at the start of next season.

Liverpool will try and trigger an £8 million release clause in the contract of Cristian Tello. The Barcelona youngster is being tipped to leave the Spanish giants this summer after failing to break into the first team in front of the likes of Xavi and Andres Iniesta.

Liverpool midfielder Stewart Downing says he hopes he has done enough to stay in Brendan Rodgers’ plans for next season. Rodgers told Downing earlier in the season that he was free to leave the club, but he transformed his form to become one of the club’s most important players.

Toby Alderweireld has snubbed Liverpool and done a u-turn on comments he made earlier in the season. The Ajax defender said he wouldn’t make a decision on his future until the end of the season but has seemingly committed to a summer deal to join Roma in Serie A.

West Ham United insist they want to try and complete a deal for Liverpool’s Andy Carroll. Carroll doesn’t seem to feature in Brendan Rodgers’ plans for Liverpool, which has led to suggestions the club will axe him for a fraction of the price they originally paid Newcastle United.

Former Liverpool player Jan Molby says Liverpool’s attack is the biggest positive to take from the season. Molby has suggested that after a difficult start, the ease through which the attack has scored goals allows Brendan Rodgers to take a real positive into the next campaign.

Former Liverpool boss Roy Evans has urged Brendan Rodgers to buy a different defender to Jamie Carragher. Carragher retires at the end of the season which leaves a hole in the defence of the squad, with plenty of rumours over who Rodgers will go after to fill the void.

Brazilian midfielder Lucas has urged the club’s youngsters to step up and take their chances, over the final two games of the season. The midfielder says it’s a great opportunity for them to make a lasting impression on the manager ahead of the 2013/2014 season.
