Arsenal latest: Including Piszczek and Vadillo

News and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.

Arsenal have reportedly lined up Polish right back Lukasz Piszczek of Borussia Dortmund as the likely replacement for Bacary Sagna this summer. The attack minded full-back has also recently been tracked by Real Madrid and could be available for around £12 million. Sagna is expected to leave this summer with one-year remaining on his current contract and only a one-year extension on offer for the French international.

Arsene Wenger has paid tribute to his long-term adversary Sir Alex Ferguson as the Manchester United manager prepares to step down from Manchester United this summer. The Frenchman called his achievements ‘immaculate’ and suggested that English football would not be the same without Sir Alex at the helm.

Tottenham Hotspur would appear to have beaten Arsenal to any potential deal for Barcelona striker David Villa. The Gunners almost signed Spain’s record goalscorer in January but the deal never came to pass and now it seems Andre Villas-Boas is ready to poach away the deal; but not at the £12 million Blaugrana want for their man.

Arsenal’s link-up with Real Betis will come into effect this summer and while the Spanish club are looking to bring in plenty of players on loan Arsenal are now reportedly after something in return. Arsenal apparently want an option on the signature of Alvaro Vadillo, a talented youngster likened to Cristiano Ronaldo, should he leave the club.

Pop stars and die-hard Gooners Rizzle Kicks will join the Arsenal membership scheme this summer. They, along with former player Robert Pires, will spearhead an overhaul of the clubs membership scheme in an attempt to decrease tension at the expensive prices at The Emirates.

Arsenal target Abdel Barrada has brand new admirers; who have quickly become the favourites to sign the Getafe winger. Lokomotiv Moscow are looking to invest heavily this summer after a disappointing Russian Premier League campaign and have reportedly earmarked the Morrocan-Spaniard as a perfect option to take the team forward. He has a release clause of £17 million written into his contract and Spurs are also keen.

Finally and on the site we have brought you hopefully exciting news regarding Stevan Jovetic. Fiorentina may have signed a replacement in the form of Oleksandr Yakovenko from Anderlecht who could be viewed as a replacement for the Montenegrin transfer target.
