Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner will reportedly give manager Paul Lambert a big transfer budget to spend in the summer. The move is effectively an idea to ensure that the club’s predicaments throughout the current season never repeat themselves, allowing Lambert to drastically improve the squad.

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has warned Arsenal against making a move for full back Matt Lowton. Several media reports have suggested the Gunners will make a move to sign him of Bacary Sagna leaves the club, but Lambert has implied it would be a waste of time for them.

Brad Guzan has been voted as the club’s player of the season, in his first year as Aston Villa’s number one. The goalkeeper has been given the award following votes from his teammates and fans following a string of superb performances in a struggling team.

Gabby Agbonlahor has warned his Aston Villa teammates not to get complacent now they have hit the 40 points mark. That tally is usually enough to keep a side in the Premier League but the striker insists Villa still have more work to do before they can rest easy.

Curtis Davies is being tipped with a move away from Birmingham City, with Villa one of the candidates to re-sign him. Davies has been a stand out performer for Villa’s local rivals this season, which has created the idea he could return to the club if they, and the fans, will accept him back.

Aston Villa are one of the clubs thought to be in the race to sign Bakary Sako from Wolves. Wolves have just been relegated down to League One, which means they could react by selling several players this summer and Villa are interested in making yet another lower league purchase.

Christian Benteke has claimed the positivity around Aston Villa has allowed him to have a big impact this season. Benteke is the club’s leading goalscorer, which has led to him being linked with several high profile moves ahead of the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan has piled the praise onto key striker Gabriel Agbonlahor. The forward has had a big impact in recent games, scoring the winner away at Norwich City which allowed the side to take all three points in their battle against relegation.
