Manchester United's latest Chicharito snub is worrying

Javier Hernandez

Javier Hernandez had a great start to the season at Manchester United, but his 2013 has been far less so.

It's fair to wonder if Javier Hernandez has done something wrong at Manchester United, for the way he has been treated certainly seems as though he has.

The striker has played just 174 minutes of Premier League football in 2013, and was also snubbed in both legs of their Champions League time against Real Madrid.

He did bag four goals in the FA Cup, but they have been his only goals in 2013, with his total season tally at United standing at 16.

This meant he bagged 12 goals in the first half of the season, and had he been given enough of a chance surely he would have reached the 20 goal barrier for the second time in three seasons.

Now with just two Premier League games left, while possible, it remains unlikely for a striker who has a point to prove but little match practice or sharpness under his belt to speak of.

For the Mexican was an unused substitute in the dead-rubber against Chelsea at the weekend, an opponent against who he frequently excels particularly at Old Trafford.

United had nothing to play for, and the match was really United's last big 'glamour game' of the season, with just Swansea and West Brom remaining, and there was really no reason for the striker to be benched.

The Red Devils had nothing to play for, and it was the ideal time to give Hernandez time in the spotlight to prove himself.

It's a little worrying for the striker the way his opportunities have tailed off in 2012/13. Sir Alex Ferguson said recently he wants to keep all of his forwards despite talk of new additions.

So he needs to begin giving the Mexican more chances to play a part, as rumours of an impending exit and interest from Spain increases with every match he is left on the bench.

It's got to the stage now where if an interesting offer comes his way, Chicharito may just decide to take it, regardless of what might happen against Swansea or West Brom.

United fans how do you explain Hernandez' absence? Are you worried he is being forced out?
