It was confirmed early this week that Chelsea were closing on Andre Schurrle of Bayer Leverkusen, with an offer submitted and negotiations at an advanced stage.
A player who has not been so much on their radar, publicly at least, is Atletico Madrid attacker Arda Turan.
But if reports are to be believed then the Turk could be wearing the Chelsea shirt next season, and not at a party like Julio Cesar.
It is claimed a double deal is being negotiated with Atletico Madrid along with striker Falcao worth upwards of 60 million Euros.
Turan is a player Mourinho knows well having faced him several times with rivals Real Madrid, and the Turk could yet haunt the Special One when Atletico and Real meet in the upcoming Copa del Rey Final.
The 26-year-old is a left winger whose release clause stands at 24 million Euros, and who was linked with Liverpool previously but deemed too expensive for the Reds.
He has four goals and six assists in La Liga this season for Atletico, and also set up one of Falcao's goals against Chelsea in the European Super Cup last August.
With attacking players at a premium at Chelsea, and players like Kevin de Bruyne unable to even get a squad place having to go out on loan, it may be seen that Turan is a luxury the Blues don't need.
But on the other hand, if Mourinho wants him, Chelsea fans will have to trust the manager if he does arrive, that he has a plan.
The twist here is that super agent Jorge Mendes, who owns Falcao's rights and is a business partner with former Chelsea executive Peter Kenyon, is also in business with Ahmet Bulut... agent of Arda Turan, as reported by AS.
For now there is no confirmation of a move for Turan, despite these reports from Turkey, so fans will have to wait and see how this one plays out.
Chelsea fans, do you need Arda Turan?
