The big story today revolves around the future of Tottenham Hotspur forward Gareth Bale. The Welsh wizard has been crowned the PFA Player, PFA Young Player and Football Writers Player of the Year for 2013 and has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months.
However despite recently admitting his frustration at failing to snap up Bale from Southampton as a teenager it is reported in the Sunday Mirror that Manchester United hope to test the resolve of their Premier League rivals in the summer.
The 23-year-old is reportedly much more likely to seal a move to United than Real as he would prefer to stay in England but whether Spurs would sell for any amount of money remains to be seen.
Everton are set to become the front-runners for the services of FC Copenhagen and Denmark international striker Andreas Cornelius. The 20-year-old has attracted the interest of Arsenal and Stoke in recent months but publicly acknowledged the Merseyside club:
“It’s a big pat on the back that Everton are watching me “I know the club, I’ve seen them a few times and the Premier League is a great competition.”
The Sunday People suggest that West Ham are looking at bringing in Stoke City striker Peter Crouch this summer as hope of signing Andy Carroll begins to diminish. The Liverpool man may be wanted at Anfield after all and the former Tottenham and QPR striker is reportedly ready to return to London this summer.
Meanwhile Stoke City will replace him with Arsenal misfit Nicklas Bendtner.
