Ballon d’Or winner praises former Chelsea boss

Why has Real Madrid star Kaka been singing the praises of ex-Chelsea gaffer Carlo Ancelotti?

In recent months it has been hard to find a single current Chelsea player who finds the incumbent manager worthy of praise. Meanwhile one of their ex-gaffers continues to get more support from the fans and the players. Jose Mourinho continues to be a cult figure at Stamford Bridge even after his departure from London.

But another former Chelsea boss has been receiving the praise this weekend; Carlo Ancelotti.

But not from a Chelsea player but in fact a former Chelsea target.

Real Madrid playmaker Kaka has been singing the praises of the Paris Saint-Germain manager this weekend as he spoke of his future with Real Madrid; which looked a little brighter after a volleyed effort against Real Valladolid helped to keep Barcelona’s mitts off the La Liga crown for another week at least.

The discussions over Ancelotti have come up because the French based manager has recently been linked with taking over from Jose Mourinho this summer; should the Portuguese return to South-West London.

And for Kaka it may just be the perfect move; as for him Ancelotti is the only ‘Special One’.

During his time working under the Italian at AC Milan the Brazilian was the best player in world football. In 2007 he was awarded both the coveted FIFPro World Player of the Year gong and the prestigious Ballon d’Or after a superb campaign with the Rossoneri.

Something he recognised Ancelotti’s help in achieving:

"The best years of my career came under him [Ancelotti]."

At Madrid it has been a different story. Struck by numerous injury problems and a battle with his overall fitness the Brazilian has not hit the expectations at the Bernabeu.

However the return of Ancelotti would certainly galvanise the attacking talent who admits he wants to have ‘one good season’ at Real Madrid and that for now, despite the lure of Flamengo in his homeland, he has no desire to quit European football for his beloved Brazil.

One thing for sure; if Ancelotti can get the best out of Kaka once again next season then Real Madrid will have two of the best players of our generation firing on all cylinders.

That’s if Cristiano Ronaldo stays of course.
