Transfer Talk: Featuring Luiz, Cavani and Wanyama

Chelsea, Manchester City and Southampton feature in the transfer round-up.

Chelsea reportedly face a fight to hold on to David Luiz this summer as Barcelona are ready to bring him to the Nou Camp. The Catalan side have reportedly already tied up the signing of fellow Brazilian Neymar and are now looking to add another piece of the reshaping puzzle after being thrashed by Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Chelsea reportedly will want £40 million for the former Benfica player.

Manchester City have reportedly made a breakthrough in the pursuit of Napoli striking sensation Edinson Cavani; by offering them a ready-made replacement as part of the deal. City are ready to offer £35 million for the Uruguayan goal-scorer with Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko also thrown into the transfer proceedings.

However Dzeko could scupper the deal if he decides to move to Borussia Dortmund.

Southampton are set to rival Arsenal and others to the signature of Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama. The Kenyan has long been linked with a move to the Premier League but reports today suggest The Saints are willing to offer up to £10 million for the young midfielder which may test the resolve of the SPL champions; who have so far been unreceptive to a potential transfer.

Barcelona have compiled a list of Victor Valdes replacements including three Premier League keepers. Liverpool’s Pepe Reina, David de Gea of Manchester United and Spurs stopper Hugo Lloris are all on the shortlist.

Yossi Benayoun will leave Chelsea this summer. The Israeli has struggled for first team football at Stamford Bridge this season and has recently been at the centre of an investigation into abuse in his direction. He will leave on a free transfer.
