Chelsea have been linked with several transfer targets this week, but who have been the best?
The always ambitious Roman Abramovich is expected to free plenty more funds for Chelsea to spend this summer, regardless of where they finish in the league this season.
With talk of Jose Mourinho being close to securing a return to Chelsea, talk is already hotting up as to who his first signings could be.
We've read and reported on the rumours throughout the week, and here are our rankings of the top six players the Blues are linking with signing. Let us know what you think:
1) Xabi Alonso
The Independent reported that Chelsea are keen to do a double deal with Real Madrid this summer, signing Xabi Alonso in midfield to accompany Jose Mourinho. While the midfielder's Liverpool connections may be a stumbling block, Alonso is said to be very close to Mourinho, and there is no arguing he would help transform the club's midfield. He may just be the perfect deep playmaker to accompany the dangerous triumvirate that is Mata-Hazard-Oscar.
Rumours are persisting that Chelsea have agreed a deal in principle with Atletico Madrid to sign Falcao, to be the cornerstone of the Blues' attack. Whether true or simply jumping the gun, the Colombian would be the powerful and reliable goal-getter they need to become title challengers in the Premier League next season.
3) Robert Lewandowski
Having felt the pain of what Lewandowski can do first hand, watching him score four past his Real Madrid side, it was reported that Jose Mourinho 'texted' the Pole inviting him to join him at Chelsea next season. The striker is out of contract next year and would cost around half the price of Falcao, and is a very exciting alternative, although Bayern Munich are favourites to sign him.
4) Kyriakos Papadopoulos
Reports today (Saturday) linked Schalke's Kyriakos Papadopoulos to Chelsea, and make no mistake he would be a terrific addition. The central defender is only 21, and starred for Greece at Euro 2012. He made his debut for Olympiakos at just 15-years-old, and is one of the brightest centre-half prospects in Europe. Details on Chelsea's interest are sketchy at best, but this could be one to watch.
5) Viktor Fischer
This kid is the real deal, tipped as Ajax's future star this time last year after superb NextGen Series showings, he has forced his way into the Dutch club's first team and scored a number of sensational goals. All of Europe's top clubs are monitoring him and the Blues are no different with Talksport claiming Chelsea are 'desperate' to sign him. Ajax are not thought to be willing to sell this summer.
6) Lazar Markovic
Lazar Markovic's on-off move to Chelsea has been discussed for several months and the Serbian was back on the agenda this week with a report in the Mirror that Avram Grant was trying to help smooth out a deal for the attacker. Grant is the former coach of Partizan Belgrade who the 19-year-old currently plays for.
