Raheem Sterling is touch and go to return to the Liverpool side for the Merseyside derby this weekend. The teenage winger is struggling with a lack of match fitness but could still make the bench for the game. Luis Suarez serves the second of his ten match suspensions.

Stewart Downing has taken a small stab at local rivals Everton ahead of the Merseyside derby this weekend. Downing has implied it must really affect David Moyes that his club have not won at Anfield since a 1-0 win way back in 1999 and Moyes has never won a match at Anfield.

Liverpool have been out on full alert following Roberto Mancini’s admission that Scott Sinclair could leave Manchester City. The winger joined City last summer, but has been told he is free to move ahead of the 2013/2014 campaign with Liverpool one of the early favourites to sign him.

Philippe Coutinho has spoken of his growing relationship with striker Daniel Sturridge. Coutinho has praised the consistency and technique of the striker, who he says makes it easy for him to find space to create assists and chances for other players to score goals.

Rumours are growing that Liverpool will make a summer move for Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori. The 20-year-old was linked with the club earlier in the week, which has prompted several stories confirming the interest and a possible deal thought to be worth £2 million.

The agent of Lyon’s Dejan Lovren has revealed that his player will consider a move to Liverpool, if the French club receives a good offer. Lovren recently attacked his current owners over a variety of issues which has seemingly made it impossible for them to keep him.

Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard says he is very optimistic for the club ahead of a busy summer. Gerrard has suggested that if Brendan Rodgers is given the backing he needs in the transfer market, Liverpool won’t have any problems pushing for a top four spot next season.

Liverpool have unveiled their new kit for the start of the 2013/2014 season. Ahead of what is bound to be a very exciting campaign for the club, they have released a shirt which is modelled on the kit worn by the side that secured victory in the 1984 European Cup.

Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm says he is planning to stay at the Welsh club. Vorm had been tipped to make a summer move to Liverpool, providing competition for Pepe Reina’s number one spot as rumours suggesting Reina may leave appear to have vanished.
