Cesc Fabregas offers cryptic clue over Arsenal return

Fabregas Barcelona

Cesc Fabregas has spoken out on rumours linking him with a return to Arsenal.

English newspapers ran the story last week that Cesc Fabregas was wanted back at Arsenal, as part of the Gunners summer spending.

This has caused much excitement among supporters at the thought of seeing their former hero return, and also much debate as to how he would fit into the current side and if a bid for his services would be the best use of the Gunners' transfer budget.

In the wake of Barcelona's 7-0 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, the midfielder was quizzed on the rumours in his homeland.

Speaking to Spanish radio station Cadena Copehe was fairly blunt about the prospects, while also a little cryptic.

So what did he have to say?

"I do not know what you say and even what is written. I can only say that only I know my future."

From that we can deduce two things, that Fabregas is trying to deflect and brush aside the rumours - which he surely can't have avoided, but also that he has made up his mind on his future.

This is clearly either a Barcelona stay, or an Arsenal return, the problem is we are no closer to finding out what is inside his head.

It was reported this week that Fabregas was involved in a complicated property battle regarding his girlfriend, of who he is accused of breaking up the relationship with her rich husband.

It is a complex case which has made the Court of Appeal, with the court hearing that a company owned by Fabregas put in a £5.4 million offer on the London flat.

Now this is all his personal business, and there are varying reasons for him doing so, but that isn't the sort of money to risk lightly, and if Fabregas' mind has been made up on a return, then it makes sense.

All it is though presently is rumour, but Fabregas had a chance on radio today to state categorically his future to Barcelona, but he chose not to, and offered a cryptic response instead.

It's all getting very interesting.

Arsenal fans what do you think? Is a move on or not?
