Manchester United are not short of strikers, even being linked with new additions in the summer. But thinking long-term, the future of their attack is already contracted to the club.
Bruno Gomes is the record-breaking Brazilian striker who plays for their feeder club in South America, Desportivo Brasil.
He is one of three players, along with Wellington Bueno and Lucas Evangalista, who are hoping to be fast-tracked into Red Devil life by joining the club on their pre-season overseas tour.
Gomes is an out and out striker who can score 'any type of goal', and has been compared to Luis Fabiano. But the simple nickname he has designated himself - B9 - is reminiscent of Il Fenomeno, the Brazilian Ronaldo and all-time World Cup leading goalscorer who had R9 branded on his boots.
He is capable of scoring acrobatic goals, powerful finishes, and simply passing the ball into the net, and does so at an unbelievably prolific rate.
He bagged 27 goals in 2012 as he led Desportivo to their under-17 championship, and in 2013 he has been staggering. A month ago he scored a hat-trick, but that was just him warming up - last week he scored a sensational seven goals in a 12-0 win for his club.
That superb tally has garnered him all sorts of extra attention, but he is certainly embracing it, interacting with fans from his @b9oficial Twitter account, but also displaying a humble edge without getting ahead of himself.
The plan is for him to sign with United when he turns 18 in 2014, and by then he might just be ready to make an impact at the club if he is as sensational as he is indicating.
Gomes has already visited Old Trafford, meeting Wayne Rooney and Sir Alex Ferguson among others, and appears to have his heart set on playing at the Theatre of Dreams, - saying in December: "I already have plans in Manchester and I want to make history at the club," as well as stating his ambition is to play and score in future World Cups.
United fans are likely to be keeping a close eye on his exploits, and with good reason - Gomes could just be the future of the club.
