Jose Mourinho to Chelsea? The Evidence...

Jose Mourinho Double

Chelsea have routinely been linked with Jose Mourinho coming back to manage at Stamford Bridge next season.

Each week there is a little tidbit of news released, often overseas, which indicates the 'Special One' is on the brink of a return to Chelsea.

We decided to collate all the evidence for Jose's return, and ask if in fact it really is a done deal.

Here are numerous reports appearing to indicate the Real Madrid boss is on his way...

March 13 - It is claimed in Spain that Roman Abramovich has decided to make amends with Mourinho by offering the manager an expensive gift of a watch worth in the region of 400,000 Euros. A wise, if not cheap, peace offering from the Russian oligarch.

March 24 - Porto's youth coach, Rui La Semos tweeted a photo of Chelsea's training ground commenting that it would be Mourinho's home next season. His account was later deleted and some claimed it to be untrue, but was it really?

March 26 - Mourinho made one of several trips to London, where his daughter is now attending school. Is this a long-term hint this is where his future lies? He told The Sun that he loves the capital and that 'one day' he would probably return to Chelsea.

April 17 - Mourinho is claimed to have privately admitted he would be in London next season, after giving a talk at his son's youth football team. The Spanish press were told the manager pointed at a picture of a Chelsea team bus and said that is where he would be this time next year. A day later the reports were denied, but was that just damage limitation and a PR exercise to save face at the secret coming out?

April 24 - German newspaper Bild ran an exclusive that Mourinho to Chelsea is a done deal, with the promise from Roman Abramovich that Atletico Madrid star striker Falcao would be signed as a welcome gift for the manager.

April 30 - Bild, again, has reported that Jose Mourinho has sent a text message to Robert Lewandowski about signing him for Chelsea next season. Believe it or not, added to the weight of evidence beforehand it certainly looks convincing.

April 30 - After their Champions League elimination, Mourinho hinted heavily he would return to England, stating he was hated in Spain, but adored in the UK, particularly by one club. Guilleme Balague indicated the manager is set for talks over his Madrid future in the coming days.

What do you think, is the evidence too great to deny? Or is it all fabrication?
