Arsenal latest: Including Schneiderlein and Montoya

All the latest Arsenal news and gossip.

Arsenal have been linked with a summer move for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlein. The 23-year-old would cost in the region of £10 million, with The Sun reporting manager Arsene Wenger has been tracking the Frenchman for the past three seasons. Schneiderlein would replace Abou Diaby, and has made more tackles and interceptions that any other Premier League player.

Reports in Italy have suggested Arsenal are in competition with Liverpool for the signature of Barcelona full-back Martin Montoya, but say that Inter Milan are keen to beat both of them to the deal. The right-back would be a potential replacement for Bacary Sagna at Arsenal, and at 22-years-old would be good competition for Carl Jenkinson.

It has been revealed that Theo Walcott swapped shirts with Robin van Persie after the clash with Manchester United on Sunday, but did it at full-time and in the tunnel, unlike Andre Santos earlier in the season who did so in front of the cameras at half-time in their loss at Old Trafford.

Santos himself has been busy in Brazil, missing a crucial penalty in a shootout which saw his side exit the Brazilian cup last night. His miss was a real shocker, failing to hit the target, and you can watch it here.

Also in Brazil, Sao Paolo want to bring in Arsenal's forgotten man Denilson permanently, although no plan is currently in place. If a deal is not done within two months the midfielder will head back to the Emirates.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain says he wants to be more than a bit-part player at Arsenal, after a slightly underwhelming season where he has stood still rather than advanced. He says he has been working on the defensive side of his game and also working on playing centrally, which manager Arsene Wenger believes he has the capability to do.

We have taken a look at Arsenal's remaining fixtures, and why they have unresolved business against the sides they face, with Newcastle, QPR, and Wigan taking points off the Gunners in the corresponding fixtures last season, asking if they can get the maximum haul this time around.

The Express claim that Arsenal are one of several English clubs monitoring Julio Cesar at now relegated QPR. The report however lacks detail and does not add anything new to a rumour which has been doing the rounds for a fortnight or so.

Speaking of dodgy rumours, have you heard the one about Arsenal and Iker Casillas? Here's our take on why it just may be the most unlikely of the summer so far.
