Three of the latest transfer stories to keep in the loop with...
After QPR's relegation, a number of players are expected to depart this summer. Esteban Granero has indicated he is wiling to stay, but Julio Cesar is one who is expected to depart. The high-wage Brazilian goalkeeper was pictured in a Chelsea shirt last week at friend David Luiz' birthday party, which did not go down well with supporters or the club's hierarchy. It is being reported that the stopper is a genuine target for Italian giants AC Milan, while Talksport claim he is being monitored by Liverpool, with Arsenal also previously mentioned.
A shock development has seen Everton striker Nikica Jelavic touted as a transfer target for West Ham. The Mirror claim the Croatian striker has been lined up as an alternative to Andy Carroll, who would be available for roughly half the price that Liverpool are demanding for the Englishman. Jelavic has seven goals in 26 Premier League starts this season, a disappointing figure for the player who began the season as their lead striker and a seemingly sure bet to finish in double figures. Sam Allardyce is said to be a long-term admirer of the player, trying to sign him when the Hammers were in the Championship last season.
Another West Ham development, this time an apparent done deal, the Guardian is reporting that the Hammers have wrapped up the signature of Romanian international captain Razvan Rat on a free transfer, to go through on July 1. The 31-year-old left-back will leave Shakhtar Donetsk to sign with the Hammers, having played a role in their Champions League run to the last 16 this season, and is expected to earn £35,000 a week. Our question is only how many West Ham fans will consider getting 'Rat' printed on the back of their shirts?
