Premier League clubs have been given a boost in their pursuits of Schalke's young sensation Julian Draxler. The 19-year-old is said to have caught the eye of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea in recent months. Last week he was linked with a cross-German switch to Borussia Dortmund as a direct replacement for Mario Gotze, who has joined Bayern Munich. However Draxler has today stated that will not be happening, telling Bild: "Some have taken the rumors at face value, that made me sad. I can promise for all that I will not play for Borussia Dortmund."
Ajax wonderkid Viktor Fischer is inevitably the subject of increasing speculation following a sensational 2013 where he has lived up to his billing by producing several superb performances for Ajax, scoring a number of excellent goals. The latest reports have linked him with Chelsea, who are known for their keenness to sign up young talented playmakers. The 18-year-old is also interesting Manchester United, but will not want to move anywhere to sit on the bench, and could follow Christian Eriksen's example to bide his time and get regular football under his belt before making his switch.
Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul remains a target for AC Milan, and considering his injury problems this season it is not inconceivable the Magpies will cash in on him this summer if a sizeable offer comes in. As a result it is being claimed that the club are lining up a replacement, in Reading's Alex McCarthy. The goalkeeper is thought to be available, given Reading's recent relegation, but Liverpool are also credited with interest. Brendan Rodgers recently described his display against the Reds as 'staggering', and likewise if Pepe Reina moves on then he could be a summer arrival at Anfield.
