Chelsea ran out comfortable 2-0 winners against Swansea City in the Premier League today. Oscar got the ball rolling in the first half before Frank Lampard added a second from the penalty spot for an easy victory at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard’s goal in the fixture puts him just one goal behind Bobby Tambling’s 43-year club record of 202 career goals for the club. Tambling was in attendance this week after four months in hospital and was reduced to tears when he was rapturously received by the fans.

Chelsea also shot themselves in the foot this weekend in regards to the legendary midfielder; after Chelsea TV accidentally referred to him as a ‘former Blues midfielder’ in the synopsis of a programme highlighting his best moments at the club. You can view the gaffe on site here.

Fernando Torres acted as mediator between Luis Suarez and Branislav Ivanovic last weekend, it has been revealed. The Spanish striker reportedly first approached Torres about the incident so that he could explain his actions in his mother tongue of Spanish. Torres reportedly then eased the temper of the Serbian international before Suarez called to personally apologise for his actions.

Chelsea are just one of many clubs chasing the talented Danish youngster Viktor Fischer at Ajax. The 18-year-old has had a breakout season for Dutch side Ajax and is being lined up as a transfer target by The Blues; however they will have competition from Manchester United.

Chelsea’s deal for Andre Schurrle may have hit a snag. The move involves Kevin De Bruyne going in the opposite direction on loan for the season however the current Werder Bremen loanee is hoping for a potential move to Borussia Dortmund which would mean a re-negotiation of terms with Bayer Leverkusen for the 21-year-old German international.
