Five Manchester United youngsters who could get a chance in end-of-season run-in

We pick five players who might get a chance to show off their talents as the season draws to a close.

Manchester United are in the envious position of being able to kick back and enjoy the end of their season with minimal fuss; a long shot from this time last year.

In this sort of situation it may not be ideal for every other Premier League team but Sir Alex Ferguson has the opportunity to blood a few of his younger players in the title run-in.

So which five players could benefit from Manchester United wrapping up the title so early?

Adnan Januzaj

This is the name that has popped up most prominently as a potential introduction for the end of the season after he was handed the number 44 shirt this week. The 18-year-old Belgian is highly rated at the club and is expected to feature at some point. Not against Arsenal though as he featured in the under-21 match on Friday.

Alex Buttner

Buttner has impressed every time he gets the chance at United and with the title wrapped up Fergie might just throw him the baton ahead of Patrice Evra a few more times this season.

The Dutch international may need a few games to convince him that United have his long term interests at heart.

Marnick Vermijl

Another Belgian who might get a chance this season as Fergie may consider rewarding Rafael for his excellent season with an early break from the action.

The former Standard Liege full-back is 21-years-old so needs to start making the grade for the first-team and has featured once in the League Cup already this season.

He could certainly do with some games under his belt.

Mats Moller Daelhi

Frederic Veseli has been one of United’s most eye-catching of performers in the under-21 league this campaign but he looks set to miss the rest of the season with a nasty hamstring injury suffered earlier in the month.

Considered one of his countries best it may be too early for this Norwegian youngster to get his nod but with Veseli injured I felt it was a good time to bring his name to everyone’s attention. Definitely one to watch.

Nick Powell

Surely now the impressive signing from Crewe can get a few more games under his belt for the club. He scored on his Premier League debut back in September and will be hoping for more of the same as the season whimpers on.

Which player do you think should get a break?
