Manchester City must sign Zlatan to kick-start their revolution

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic claimed to be available this summer, Manchester City should go all out to sign him.

Manchester United were stung by their title loss last summer, and made the biggest signing of the summer in the Premier League last season in Robin van Persie in their efforts to win it back.

They were successful, and as Manchester City did 12 months earlier with £37.5 million man Sergio Aguero - Roberto Mancini's side will be targeting a top striker to make a splash and fill the void left by Mario Balotelli.

If they want to do that on a supreme scale there is one man with the experience, class, and motivation to turn them back into champions: Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The striker has spent one season at PSG, which is set to end in title glory; his ninth league win in the last 10 seasons of his career.

Zlatan is a winner, who brings with him an aura which tends to inspire his teammates, who feed off his prolific strike rate and goal creating ability.

At City alongside the talents of David Silva, Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero, Zlatan would be in illustrious company, but could still come in and assume the mantel of being the leader of the attack.

He would become City's icon, the striker on which the club could lay their hopes for the season ahead, and feel confident he could help them wrestle the title back from United.

City's 'revolution' has stalled somewhat, their season had the stuffing knocked out of it early on by their Champions League collapse, and they need a big inspiration to help them do that.

Zlatan, who scored a wondergoal for Sweden past Joe Hart last year, would be just the man.

It has been discussed over the past week that PSG would consider selling the Swede, who is claimed to want out - If they can secure a big name of their own. One option is Edinson Cavani, another target of Manchester City.

A transaction between two of Europe's two richest clubs for Zlatan could be expensive, but City could throw in a player like Maicon to smooth the deal and fix a potential area where PSG are looking the strengthen at right-back.

With a phenomenal 27 goals in 29 games in Ligue One, one annoyance which has frustrated Zlatan through his career is the perception he has struggled against English teams in the past.

City could give him the platform to prove his doubters wrong once and for all, by tearing the Premier League apart on a weekly basis.

It certainly is an exciting prospect, and for pure entertainment value of seeing the stylish Swede on our shores, it's a transfer which we'd love to happen.
