Tottenham Hotspur latest: Including Lennon and Eriksen

Aaron Lennon 3

All the latest Tottenham Hotspur news and gossip.

Aaron Lennon is nearing a return to first team action for Spurs, after returning to full training. The speedy winger had last featured in the 2-2 home draw with Basel in the Europa League, and hopes to be available for Wigan at the weekend. He had hoped to play against City at the weekend but failed a fitness test prior to the game.

Tottenham's chances of signing Christian Eriksen are being threatened by Bayern Munich's mega-money move for Mario Gotze. The 37 million move will leave Borussia Dortmund flush with cash and it is being reported that Ajax's Christian Eriksen will become a top target for the German side.

Real Madrid have begun their spiky negotiating process with regards to Gareth Bale, by laying down their terms with Spurs, stating they will not pay over 45 million for the winger. This would appear to be the end of it from Tottenham's point of view, but that surely will rest on them securing a top four place, to ease the pressure on the club over the summer. We are asking today on HITC if the upcoming month is the most important in the club's recent history?

Benoit Assou-Ekotto's possible departure this summer is likely to see Spurs hang onto left-back Danny Rose, at least until any replacement is bought by the club. Rose has been on loan at Sunderland and appears to be happy there with the feeling mutual. Tottenham's resolve will depend on any offer from the Black Cats, with one report claiming Spurs are holding out for £8 million.

The Metro are linking Spurs to Argentine striker Lisandro Lopez, claiming the goalscorer could even be signed for as little as £5 million. The 30-year-old has just one year left on his current deal and recently stated he would be open to a move away from Lyon.

Talksport claim long-term Spurs target Leandro Damiao is nearing a transfer to Italian side Napoli, with Edinson Cavani poised to move to PSG. Damiao's current side Internacional are said to be eyeing former CSKA Moscow striker Vagner Love as a replacement.
