Miroslav Stoch is a player who like an increasing number, had to leave Chelsea's youth set up to kick on and make a success of himself.
He has done just that, winning FIFA's goal of the year award in December for a scorching volley scored for Fenerbahce the previous season.
This season in Turkey he has had a disappointing campaign however, suffering with illness and injury - and has not scored a single goal, providing just a solitary assist.
Now as the season draws to a close, and a Europa League Semi-Final on the horizon, Stoch is on the bench and not featuring.
This has led to him being primed for a summer move, with it believed he could be available.
Reports in Russia are today stating that league leaders CSKA Moscow are lining up an €11 million offer for the Slovakian.
His contract in Turkey runs until 2016, and intriguingly the winger could be replacing a former Manchester United attacker, or a former Celtic star.
Zoran Tosic currently plays for CSKA, although reports over the past week have linked him to German side Stuttgart. He may also be wanted to cover Aidan McGeady, the former Celtic ace who is expected to return to the British Isles this summers.
Stoch is only 23 and it wasn't so long ago that he was being touted as one of Europe's most exciting talents. It is a shame that his career has taken such a backwards step this season, so a switch is likely a positive step.
At CSKA he will be in with a surefire chance of winning medals, but it's a bit of a shame he won't be heading to our shores to play in the Premier League. There is, of course, time for that to change.
