Liverpool’s managing director Ian Ayre has ruled out the sale of Luis Suarez this summer. There have been calls for the striker to be axed following an incident which saw him bite Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during the 2-2 draw at Anfield over the weekend.

Suarez has this evening been charged by the FA, with violent conduct, as the incident was not seen by match officials. He has until 6pm tomorrow to respond.

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has joined Phil Thompson in calls to help Luis Suarez. The pair have urged Liverpool to get to the bottom of the problems the striker has, which cause him to produce unnecessary actions such as the bite which has hit the headlines today.

Steven Gerrard says Liverpool are moving in the right direction. Gerrard was speaking after the 2-2 draw against Chelsea and has praised the direction the club is going in, but has admitted the current side has a long way to go before they can be considered a perfect side.

Adidas has revealed that the sports brand will be speaking to Luis Suarez following hid bite on Branislav Ivanovic. Suarez endorses Adidas all over the world and they have said they will speak to the striker to remind him of the ‘standards they expect’ from him in his role.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has not ruled out the possibility of dropping Luis Suarez. In the fall out of yesterday’s incident, the boss has not ruled out the chance Suarez could be benched for the next game as he continues to deal with the reaction of that bite.

Liverpool have once again been linked with Shakhtar Donetsk play maker Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The midfielder is valued at around the £10-12 million mark, which could make him a superb signing this summer considering Liverpool’s reported £20 million budget.

Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld. The centre back has disputed claims that he would welcome a move to Liverpool and has suggested it was just the Premier League in general that he was talking about.
