Arsenal latest: Including Belhanda and Giroud

Giroud V Stoke

All the latest Arsenal news and gossip.

Arsenal have decided to appeal Olivier Giroud's red card received against Fulham, in the hope the striker could be available to face Manchester United on Saturday. The FA will rule on their decision tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday 25). If the appeal is unsuccessful the Frenchman faces a three-match ban, ruling him out of all of Arsenal's remaining games, barring the final day visit to Newcastle.

Giroud's former teammate at Montpellier, Younes Belhanda, is certain to leave the club this summer, his club president confirmed. Belhanda has just one year remaining on his contract, and the club are unable to offer him one at the wages he is demanding. Montpellier are currently eighth in Ligue One.

Looking ahead to Arsenal's clash with Manchester United on Sunday, we have taken a look at just how pivotal the clash is to them finishing in the top four, and why winning the tie can effectively save their season. We have also written a piece on Van Persie's potential return as a champion, and how Wenger will be cast in the role of best man at his ex's wedding.

A strange rumour today has linked Arsene Wenger out, and Germany manager Joachim Low in. We have taken a look at just how unlikely the prospect is and examined the reasons why. He isn't the only member of coaching staff linked away, Stoke City are claimed to be targeting Wenger's number two, Steve Bould to replace Tony Pulis if the manager leaves at the end of the season.

Laurent Koscielny has been speaking about his defensive partnership with Per Mertesacker, and how the pair's communication is key to their success. The Mail believe as a result of this, captain Thomas Vermaelen is on borrowed time at the club.

And finally, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has still got it. He scored a superb goal for New York Red Bulls at the weekend, displaying a burst of pace which must make him the fastest 35-year-old around.
