Arsenal latest: Including Fabianski 'cracked rib' and Kalou

News and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.

Lukasz Fabianski’s impressive comeback has been halted by an unfortunate rib Injury. The Polish stopper had only recently usurped Wojciech Szczesny as the number one stopper after a previous spell on the side-lines and is now being assessed on a day-by-day basis for a crack in his rib.

Arsenal have been named as an unlikely location for Lille forward Salomon Kalou. The former Chelsea player has expressed a desire to return to the Premier League and The Sun believe that Arsenal could be the number one location for the Ivorian international if he decides to force a move from Ligue 1.

Aaron Ramsey insists that the club are well and truly still in the Champions League race despite the 0-0 draw with Everton on Tuesday night. The Welsh international remains confident that the result will not dent their opportunities of making the top four.

Liverpool’s owners John W Henry and Tom Werner are looking for advice on how to run a football club; and will look toward Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis for advice. They will also ask Manchester United chief David Gill according to managing director Ian Ayre.

Thomas Vermaelen will give everything to earn his way back into the Arsenal team ahead of next season. The Belgian has recently lost his place in the Arsenal first team to Laurent Koscielny after a string of poor performances and was dropped again after brief return against Norwich City last weekend. It is understood Arsene Wenger is open to selling the defender this summer with Barcelona reportedly interested.

Reported Arsenal goalkeeper target Rui Patricio is available but for a fee of £13 million. The Sporting Lisbon keeper was hopefully going to be available on a cheap deal considering the Portuguese clubs financial state but this is the price being quoted in the country’s media.

Finally and Arsenal left-back Samir Bihmoutine is hoping to leave the club this summer after a successful trial with Wolves. The teen even played for Wolves against Arsenal under-21s this week and again impressed so will leave The Emirates on a free transfer this summer.
