Ghanaian forward Jeffrey Schlupp spent the early part of 2013 at Old Trafford, doing his best to convince Sir Alex Ferguson he was deserving of a deal.
Leicester were more than accommodating in allowing him to try to achieve this goal, with the youngster even making an appearance for the Red Devils' under-21 side.
A deal was not done and he was recalled to City, with clubs apparently unable to reach a middle ground over a fee, but that is not to say the young talent does not remain on the radar of Sir Alex Ferguson, and a summer move could still remain on the cards.
He will not have done himself any harm last night, netting a winner for Leicester in their huge Championship clash with Bolton.
Wanderers had become the Championship's surprise package in recent weeks, leapfrogging out of form Leicester who had fallen out of the play-off places.
City won 3-2 last night, reversing that fortune, now sitting in sixth, owing to Schlupp's 79th minute winner.
