It is seen as probable to almost certain that Chelsea are likely to sign a midfielder this summer, with Frank Lampard on course to leave the club.
The question is which type of midfielder(s) they need. The Blues are blessed with attacking midfielders, so they need somebody with a bit of steel in too to complement Ramires and Mikel in the deeper positions.
Whether they want a tough physical player like Marouane Fellaini, or a box-to-box player like Geoffrey Kondogbia, or an out and out defensive midfielder.
Step forward another potential candidate, whose agent this week announced his availability for transfer.
Similar to Brazilian international Fred, the midfielder has a fairly unglamorous name - Ralf.
His full name is Ralf de Souza Teles, and he plays for Corinthians - the Brazilian side who defeated Rafa Benitez's Chelsea in the FIFA World Club Cup back in December.
Ralf featured in that match, wearing his usual number five shirt, helping to stifle the Chelsea midfield threat of Lampard, Mata, and Hazard.
He is known as 'the Pitbull' for his no nonsense style, a tough tackling and uncompromising yet technical player who could be an asset in the Premier League.
He is a traditional defensive midfielder who shield the defence, and has appeared in all six of their Copa Libertadores games this season.
Having recently been called up to the Brazil squad by Luiz Scolari, the 28-year-old's career is going from strength-to-strength, and there is talk a move to Europe is on the horizon, with him expected to play a part in the Confederations Cup this summer.
He has been linked with a move to Serie A, and his agent this week revealed that the asking price for his services is £12 million, with his contract in Brazil lasting until 2015.
He may not be the biggest name for the Blues to consider, but with an ever-growing cast of Brazilians, introducing a spoiler to play in midfield along with Ramires may not be a bad idea, for a decent price.
