Arsenal target Capoue speaks out about 'dream' transfer

PSG

Arsenal target Etienne Capoue has spoken out about a 'dream' transfer. But it is not a move to the Gunners he is talking about.

Arsenal have been linked with French defensive midfielder Etienne Capoue ever since last summer, and were said to have had an offer turned down for him on January's deadline day.

He plays for Toulouse, and is being lined up again by the Gunners for a summer switch, with it reported this week Arsenal want to make a renewed offer.

Except there is one problem. He may just have his heart set elsewhere.

Capoue today has been talking about PSG, describing a move to the prospective French champions as one he would love to make.

He said: "There have been contacts with Paris Saint-Germain this year. I'm a big fan of PSG and to play (there) would be a dream."

This certainly sounds ominous for Arsenal given their desire to bring him to the Emirates, and PSG's deep pockets.

PSG could afford to blow any Arsenal offer out of the water, and also offer him a more enticing wage packet, while also allowing the player to stay in his native France.

How desperate PSG are to sign him is unclear, but it certainly seems as though there have been contacts established. What could happen though is with PSG's profile rising all the time, they may decide there are players with more 'star quality' who they feel they can attract to the club in the summer, who they could not do so before.

So all is not lost for Arsenal, the player would likely see a move to the Gunners as equally as much of a dream move, but it is certainly not on his mind as much as a PSG switch.

If Capoue is PSG bound, who would you like to see Arsenal target instead?
