Chelsea loan star Kevin de Bruyne is the subject of a bid from Borussia Dortmund according to reports in Germany.
Reports in Germany have today claimed Champions League semi-finalists Borussia Dortmund have made a bid for Kevin de Bruyne.
The Belgian has been impressing on loan at Werder Bremen all season, but Werder have admitted they are unlikely to be able to afford him next season.
He has also been linked with a switch to Leverkusen as a makeweight in a deal for Andre Schurrle.
However today German website RP Online are claiming Borussia Dortmund have stolen a march on their rivals by offering 17 million Euros for the winger.
The report states: "Unlike Bayer, Dortmund is only interested in a purchase - and that makes the deal difficult. Chelsea previously signaled no willingness to sell the 21-year old permanently."
De Bruyne recently admitted he has no idea where his future lies beyond this season, with it dependent on what Chelsea want to do with him.
He is yet to make a competitive appearance for Chelsea since signing with them in January 2012, being loaned straight back to Genk before this season's Bundesliga switch.
Chelsea are likely reticent to sanction a sale of De Bruyne to a European rival without seeing him play for the club at all, but 17 million Euros is a healthy price tag for him and will tempt them.
The report has speculated whether Dortmund are preparing to cash in on one of their own top stars, who have been regularly linked away, with De Bruyne a replacement, or whether Mario Gotze could move up front to accommodate the Belgian.
Either way this is certainly one to watch.
Should Chelsea cash in at that price?
