Aston Villa Latest: Including Mathieu Flamini and Loic Remy

Aston Villa have been linked with a move to sign former Arsenal player Mathieu Flamini. Flamini is a free agent at the end of the season as he’s not had his contract with the Serie A giants extended which means a possible move back to England is on the cards.

Aston Villa have been mentioned as one of the possible clubs for Loic Remy of QPR. Remy is expected to leave the London club if they are relegated to the Championship, which means Aston Villa could throw their hat into the ring alongside the likes of Newcastle United and Chelsea.

Aston Villa are one of the clubs thought to be preparing a move for Phil Neville at the end of the season. Neville recently announced that he would be leaving Everton but not retiring which has opened up the possibility of a move to another big club such as Aston Villa.

Aston Villa boss has praised under fire star Nathan Baker. Baker has come in for plenty of criticism over the last couple of weeks for mistakes which could have cost Aston Villa a lot more than they have done in their fight to avoid the drop down to the Championship.

Paul Lambert has urged Jordan Bowery to build on his impressive performances this season. Bowery played a starring role in the match against Stoke which was just his third appearance for the club since he signed for them from lower league outfit Chesterfield.

Paul Lambert has reassured Australian Brett Holman that he does have a future at the club. The player has been dropped over recent weeks and Lambert says he’s happy that his player is unhappy because it shows he’s got that fight to get back into the team.

Matt Lowton says he is keeping his feet on the ground and will not get carried away with his current form. Lowton heads into Villa’s match against Fulham this weekend likely to be one of the first names on the team sheet and following one of the goals of the season.

Paul Lambert has praised the effect Ashley Westwood and Fabian Delph had on the midfield against Stoke. Villa secured a vital win against Stoke as they have started to slowly climb the table, away from the bottom three. Lambert has praised the way the pair control the tempo of matches.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan has thanked the fans for their ongoing support in the battle against relegation. Guzan has just been named the club’s player of the month for March and has thanked the fans for the way they have made it easier during a difficult period.
