News and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.
Much of the talk at Arsenal FC today is of their attempts to pursue a new goalkeeper. First of all Stoke City keeper Asmir Begovic has once again seen his name linked with a move to The Emirates; but at a whopping price.
The Potters Bosnian stopper is being valued at £15 million by the hierarchy at The Britannia which is deemed a price The Gunners will not rise to.
However the name Iker Casillas has once again cropped up in some circles as a potential option for the club. The Spanish legend and Real Madrid star has been struggling to regain his spot in the first team from Diego Lopez since returning from a broken hand last month.
Liverpool are also being said as keen.
Meanwhile Sunderland’s custodian Simon Mignolet has become the latest name linked with a move to The Emirates.
The Belgian has been arguably The Black Cats best player this season and there are continued rumours he could seek a move to a bigger club in order to sufficiently challenge Thibaut Courtois for the Belgium number one jersey.
News now on two players who are leaving Arsenal this summer starting with Andrey Arshavin. The Russian is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and neither party holds any interest in renewing that deal. Now it is being reported that he will give serious consideration to retirement at the end of the season as his needs are not being met by offers from new clubs and due to falling out of love with the game.
Meanwhile it has now been confirmed that youngster Martin Angha is also set to leave the club. The Swiss youth international will join German Bundesliga outfit 1.FC Nurnberg on a four-year-deal this summer. The 19-year-old has been a regular in the Arsenal youth teams since joining from FC Zurich in 2010 but now hopes a move to Bavaria will bring more first team football.
Abdelaziz Barrada will be in the crosshairs of both Arsenal and Spurs according to The Express after it emerged he wants out of Getafe this summer. The Moroccan international is also being tracked by Valencia.
Adidas are now reportedly back in for the kit manufacturing running at The Emirates; and will design a vintage looking top for the 2014/15 season. The Metro pick up the story and also run a leaked picture of the kit in question on site.
Finally and Arsenal seem set to allow Costa Rican forward Joel Campbell to stay at Real Betis next season. After a difficult start the youngster has had a solid season in Seville and Arsenal see no problems in letting him stay at the club for the foreseeable future.
