Former Gears of War producer says he is moving on from Irrational Games.
Former Epic Games star and recent BioShock Infinite VP of development, Rod Fergusson, has revealed his intentions to wrap up work at Irrational Games and move on.
Speaking with Polygon, Fergusson says he's unsure where his next project will come from or where it will take him and that he's in the process of working through the transition away from Irrational.
"During my departure from Epic, I learned that Irrational was in need of a 'closer' to help finish BioShock Infinite," he explained.
"I've been striving for better storytelling in the games I've worked on and I saw this as a great opportunity to learn from Ken and his team on how to build a truly story-driven game.”
Describing himself as “proud” of the work done on BioShock Infinite, which garnered critical and commercial success, Fergusson says he achieved his aims at the company and wants to find a new challenge.
The developer was one of many responsible for the blockbuster Gears of War franchise at Epic Games, among other titles, before being drafted into Irrational Games to help finish off their latest title.
