Manchester United fans react on Twitter to Ashley Young performance

Macheda, Rooney, Nani, Young

Manchester United lost the derby at Old Trafford 2-1, but still retain a comfortable advantage at the top of the Premier League.

Manchester United's wing troubles showed no signs of abating in a lacklustre display against Manchester City last night which saw them rack up their first league defeat of 2013.

The gap at the top of the Premier League now sits at a healthy 12 points, rather than 15 or 18 had United drawn or won, and they are still overwhelming favourites to win the title.

The big match presented a great chance for Ashley Young to turn around an incredibly disappointing season, which has seen him fail to score a single goal in any competition for the Red Devils.

Sadly for Young, he did not put in the sort of swashbuckling performance he would have hoped to, showing little to justify his team selection in such an important match.

Young had three shots on goal, one of which was on target, and did provide two key chance creating passes, but overall his distribution of the ball saw him record a disappointing 65 per cent pass completion accuracy, with just two of the six crosses he put into the box finding a teammate.

His performance saw many a United fan take to Twitter to vent their frustration with him. Here is a selection of comments...
