Retailer give its impression of Microsoft's next-generation console.
Videogames retailer GameStop has shared its excitement around Microsoft’s next-generation console, describing it as a “compelling device”.
Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, CEO J. Paul Raines explained that GameStop's sales decline of 7 per cent was due to the age of the current console cycle but that the new generation being put out by Sony and Microsoft would bring back consumers.
While Sony is the only company to have shown off its next-generation offering, the CEO said he was especially excited by the Xbox 360 successor.
"We've been spending a lot of time with Microsoft, but we have to let them take the lead on this, but it will be a very hot, compelling device,” he commented.
“They are doing some really cool stuff, and I'm eager to hear them start their announcements because I think the world is going to stand up and take notice.”
