However other reports suggest Manchester City have already agreed a first option buyer deal with the Serie A club that could scupper any potential activity.
More transfer news and Arsenal will not abate in their pursuit of French under-21 captain Sebastien Corchia. The Sochaux right-back insists he is now ready to make a big move after a promising season in Ligue 1 and it is believed North London rivals Tottenham will be their main transfer foe.
Johan Djourou has once again reiterated his stance that he does not wish to remain an Arsenal player next season. The Swiss international is currently out on loan at Bundesliga outfit Hannover and admits he would prefer to stay at the club next season.
However with two years left on his Arsenal deal he admits that will depend on Hannover meeting The Gunners asking price.
