Arsenal latest: Including Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic

News and gossip from the last 24 hours at The Emirates.

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a fee with Fiorentina for Stevan Jovetic. This report was first highlighted last week when it was admitted that within circles in the know it was believed that Arsenal were the preferred choice of the Montenegrin international.

However other reports suggest Manchester City have already agreed a first option buyer deal with the Serie A club that could scupper any potential activity.

More transfer news and Arsenal will not abate in their pursuit of French under-21 captain Sebastien Corchia. The Sochaux right-back insists he is now ready to make a big move after a promising season in Ligue 1 and it is believed North London rivals Tottenham will be their main transfer foe.

Johan Djourou has once again reiterated his stance that he does not wish to remain an Arsenal player next season. The Swiss international is currently out on loan at Bundesliga outfit Hannover and admits he would prefer to stay at the club next season.

However with two years left on his Arsenal deal he admits that will depend on Hannover meeting The Gunners asking price.

Aaron Ramsey has been speaking to football publication FourFourTwo about his joy of working with Arsene Wenger. The Welshman has had to endure some tough times recently after serious injury and losing the national team captaincy but has praised the Frenchman for his ‘approachable’ attitude.

Theo Walcott has called on his team-mates to show more consistency. Speaking to he said:

“If we get a bad result, you see a reaction. We shouldn't have to get a bad result and then perform well in the next game. It should always be there.’’

Arsenal’s pre-season Asian tour will see them take on the Indonesian national team on July 14th, it has been confirmed. They will play the side at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta in front of what could be a capacity crowd of 88,000 people.

And finally The Express carry the breaking story this evening that Arsenal will give serious consideration toward a surprise bid for Manchester City and Bosnia striker Edin Dzeko in the summer; with competition from Borussia Dortmund and Napoli.
