2K Games' critically acclaimed shooter makes waves as second biggest launch of the year.
BioShock Infinite has broken into the charts at number one for the week ending March 30th, making it the second biggest games launch of the year, according to data provided by GfK Chart-Track.
The title outsold 2010's BioShock 2 by a fair margin but was unable to topple Tomb Raider as the biggest title this year, which slipped to number two.
Gears of War: Judgement saw sales decline 63 per cent to sit at number three, while FIFA 13 and Luigi's Mansion 2 took fourth and fifth places respectively.
Meanwhile, EA's new Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel came in at number six, with Call of Duty: Black Ops II at seven, while EA's other new title Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 broke in at number eight.
Finally, Assassin's Creed III continued to journey across the UK Chart, coming in at ninth, and Crysis 3 closed off this week at number ten.
