Manchester United face competition from the pair of Milan clubs for two top targets.
Manchester United will not have it easy in the transfer market this summer, and two clubs in Italy are already making moves on two of their reported targets according to the latest reports.
The first player of concern is Vasco da Gama centre-back Dede, touted as a potential replacement for Rio Ferdinand.
The 24-year-old is one of the stars in his homeland, but is focused on a big move to Europe this summer. Liverpool are also claimed to be interested with Vasco willing to cash in.
But reports this evening claim that AC Milan have made the first move to try to secure the Brazilian and will look to snap him up this summer by offering £10 million.
Milan have a need at centre-back, after selling fellow Brazilian Thiago Silva to PSG last summer for big money and keeping much of it in reserve. They have a track record of signing players directly from Brazil, with Alexandre Pato and Kaka two recent examples and Dede would be a very good fit for them.
Sky Sports in Italy claim Chelsea are also interested but Milan plan to make an early bid in an effort to secure the player and talks have already taken place between officials at Milan and Vasco.
Also of interest to Manchester United fans is the future of Ajax teenager Viktor Fischer, the wonderkid hailed as Europe's most promising talent.
The 18-year-old has eight goals in 18 Eredivisie games this season after making the breakthrough into the first team, and is wanted by Inter Milan.
While he has a contract at the club until 2017, Europe's big guns want to snap him up and Sky Sports also report that Inter are ready to test their resolve as they look to get back among Italy and Europe's big guns.
The Dane is also wanted by rivals AC Milan, and interest from the two Italian clubs could push United into making a move for him in the summer.
The longer United do wait on Fischer, the more chance there is that competition will increase for his signature, and his price tag will increase - So it makes sense to prioritise him.
Fischer's best position is on the left wing, so United could easily accommodate him by selling the underperforming Ashley Young this summer and revamping their wide areas by using him in conjuction with Wilfried Zaha. Whether they do make such a bold move remains to be seen.
United fans, would you be disappointed to miss out on either player?
