Arsenal latest: Including Swansea duo and Nasri

News and gossip from The Emirates.

Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has insisted he does not regret leaving Arsenal for the Premier League champions. The Frenchman has had a difficult season for The Citizens this season but looked much sharper in the fixture against Newcastle United at the weekend and Roberto Mancini vented his frustration at the inconsistency of the £24 million international.

However Nasri is happy at City despite maintaining that Arsene Wenger was the greatest coach he had ever worked with.

One current French international still at The Emirates is Olivier Giroud and he has been speaking of his belief in Arsenal’s Champions League pursuit this season. He believes that they could even go as far as to catch bitter North London rivals Tottenham if they continue their current resurgence; and finish in what seemed an inconceivable third spot.

Liverpool have joined the race for highly rated Dutch midfielder Rodney Kongolo; and look set to steal him away from Arsenal. Brendan Rodgers is expected to pursue his signature with a £1.5 million which he hopes will see him sign for the club this summer. Arsenal have long been the favourites to snap up the talent but it seems they have now been pipped to the post.

Arsenal will have been alerted by the comments of Swansea City assistant manager Alan Curtis today. Michael Laudrup’s number two admitted that they may not be able to hold on to star talents Ashley Williams and Michel Vorm this summer - both of whom have been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent months.

APRIL FOOLS WARNING - took aim at Arsenal today by suggesting that a 16th consecutive qualification for the Champions League could result in them being awarded a trophy. While Ivan Gazidis has promised to increase ticket prices by 10%.

On the site we have taken a look at the credentials of Antoine Griezmann - a transfer target currently with Real Sociedad and Julio Baptista; as the former Arsenal player scored his first goal in 18 months.
